Written by admin
Thursday, 10 July 2008

Plastic surgery is a medical technique that corrects form and structure of the face and body. Most of us think of plastic surgery as a means to beautify ourselves and gain what was lacking in our person that prevented us from looking good. Indeed there can be seen an increased obsession in everyone to look better than the rest. For that they don’t mind going under the surgeon’s knife. But plastic surgery is not just for cosmetic purposes. They can be the savior of people who have suffered damage to their face or body due to some accident or illness. This is called reconstructive plastic surgery.

Reconstructive plastic surgery is for people who have functional impairments caused due to an accident or illness or present from birth. Plastic surgery makes use of techniques like craniofacial surgery, burn surgery, hand surgery, pediatric surgery and micro surgery to deal with such problems. Burn surgery helps restore the skin and looks of a person who has suffered from severe skin burns. Plastic surgery also helps correct cleft lip, cleft palate, facial bone fractures and impairments caused due to removal of organs due to cancer or tumor. Plastic surgery can also help those people who have certain organs missing from their birth like a missing ear or have certain additional parts like a sixth finger.

I have no trouble in attesting to the fact that a face lift has given me a new life!  While at first I was concerned about the possible repercussions of getting a face lift, I can honestly look back on having a face lift done as one of the best decisions I ever made.  After getting a face lift and seeing the final results, I am extremely happy with my new appearance.
